The Bi-Mart store on North 40th Avenue in Yakima is closed Today after an arson fire at the store early Tuesday morning. Yakima firefighters were called to the store at about 2:16 a.m.

When they arrived they found smoke coming from the rear of the building and water on the floor from the automatic sprinkler system. Fire crews found the fire on the second floor storage area.

They say the sprinkler system was able to douse the flames, but smoke is the big concern. It might have damaged a lot of items in the store which will need to be replaced. The damage is estimated at more than $1 million.
An investigation is underway to determine who started the fire.
