Driving 36th and Nob Hill I've been seeing a sign for Gyro House but no sign on when they're slated to open. Yesterday, however, they had the 'Now Open' sign. My wife and I decided to stop by and check it out.

So new, all they had were to-go menus. Glancing it over a little the guy behind the counter reminded us the lunch special with is a gyro with fries drizzled with tzatziki (that white cucumber-type sauce found in gyros and other mediterranean food) and a drink for $5.99. We both opted for that.

We had a seat. Again, this place was very new so we were the only ones dining. There weren't many items for decoration, but it was very clean and simple. I actually prefer that.

The food came out very fast, but it was very, very good. The flavor was on point, I normally don't care for fries but I couldn't stop eating them - it was wonderful.

I love it when new businesses open in Yakima, especially restaurants. I wish these guys a lot of success. If you do decide to check them out, let them know you hear about it on 107.3.

Don't get me wrong, I love the other place for gyros in town, too, but nice to have options.
