Thanksgiving is just about here, which means the best is yet to come.

According to a new Harris poll, Americans have named Christmas as their favorite holiday by a Santa-sized margin.

A total of 46 percent of those polled chose Christmas, easily ahead of second-place Thanksgiving (19 percent).

Americans' Favorite Holidays:

  1. Christmas -- 46 percent
  2. Thanksgiving -- 19 percent
  3. Halloween -- 9 percent
  4. Independence Day -- 5 percent
  5. Easter -- 3 percent
  6. New Year's -- 2 percent

What's the best part of the holiday season? It might just be the food, as we take a break from watching our weight to watching all the delicious foods go into our bellies. Turkey is the food we most like to eat, with 32% of the vote.

    1. Turkey -- 32 percent
    2. Stuffing -- 9 percent
    3. Ham -- 8 percent
    4. Pie -- 7 percent
    5. Sweet potatoes/yams/mashed potatoes -- 3 percent
