This morning, a listener called me up to voice her disapproval of our radio station playing the song, "The Hanging Tree", from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I movie soundtrack. The song features clips and vocals from actress Jennifer Lawrence, who is the star of the movie. I hadn't really listened to the words, so I looked up the lyrics, and after reading them, I totally disagree with our listener. This song is about two lovers plotting to run away together, and the meeting spot just happens to be called "The Hanging Tree".
