Beyonce is a modern Renaissance woman. The singer, actress, fashion designer, dancer and new mom has stocked her resume with impressive credits so far. Now she’s about to add a documentary and director. Bey reportedly will be starring in and directing a film about her life.

The L.A. Times reports that the Queen Bey and her reps at ICM have been shopping a nonfiction film about her life and career to Hollywood studios. She has allegedly shown about 20 minutes of footage to studios execs.

Hey, why not? Katy Perry did it with ‘Part of Me‘ and while that film didn’t rake in a ton of dough at the box office, it did generate a lot of publicity for the pop star.

A person familiar with the project confirmed that the flick will mix music and personal footage, blending concert clips with confessional commentary. The source was not authorized to discuss the project so they spoke under the condition of anonymity, it seems.

Bey has a history in the film medium. She has appeared in scripted films, using her voice in ‘Dreamgirls’ and in ‘Cadillac Records,’ the latter in which she played Etta James. She starred opposite Ali Larter in the drama ‘Obsessed,’ and tried her hand at comedies like ‘Austin Powers in Goldmember’ and ‘The Pink Panther.’ She is also attached to the remake of ‘A Star Is Born.’

The superstar also has documentary experience, as the mini-doc ‘Beyonce: Year of 4′ aired on MTV in 2011.

Would you want to watch a feature-length doc directed and starring the one and only Bey?
