Brandon Flowers, lead singer of the Killers and occasional solo act, has dropped a new '80s-inflected song called "Can't Deny My Love." Hear it above!

Decked out with whistling synths, electric guitar and canned orchestra hits, the track appears on Flowers' upcoming sophomore solo album The Desired Effect. That effect is something that more closely resembles the hits of '80s synth-poppers Duran Duran than anything we previously heard from the Killers. Flowers sings over a clattering jungle rhythm, backed occasionally by female vocalists.

"Ariel [Rechtshaid, producer] and I have been collaborating in the studio, working twogether [sic] in the spirit of conversation, contention, and at long last, sweet contrition," the singer said about the album in a handwritten message posted to his website. "No one has yet seen or heard the change. But soon, we all will."

As Consequence of Sound points out, Flowers performed the song at Mexico's Vive Latino music festival on March 14. The Desired Effect is due on May 18 via Island Records.
