The things we’ll do for our children.

A Baytown, Texas woman driving with her two kids looked more like Bruce Willis in ‘Die Hard’ when she outfoxed a carjacker in a violent confrontation after he burst into the vehicle.

Dorothy Baker-Flugence jumped into action last week when the suspect, armed with a knife, hopped into the backseat of her van while she pulled out of a CVS with her two- and five-year-old kids.

Somehow, Baker-Flugence maintained her composure by honking her horn, calling 911 and figuring out a way to grab the knife from the man.

She then decided to veer off the road in the hopes it would confuse the carjacker, while the 911 operator listened. She even drove into a telephone pole:

I thought, 'If you swerve and hit the pole, he's not wearing a seatbelt, he'll go through the windshield or at least hit his head, and you can stop him. You can do something to make sure that he doesn't hurt your kids.' That's all I was thinking of really, was just to get him away from my kids."

Baker-Flugence punched the suspect in the face and intentionally ran over him when he got out of the car.

The suspect, Ismael Martinez, was taken to the hospital, with serious back injuries. He’s in stable condition and once he’s released he will face a litany of charges.
