Capt. Dorenbush Talks About Firework Safety [VIDEO]

Captain Dorenbush of the Yakima Fire Department came in to talk about firework safety, where it’s illegal to light fireworks and what cities are perfectly legal to launch fireworks in your backyard.

Basically, it’s illegal to light them in the city of Yakima, but perfectly okay to light them in Mabton, Moxee, Grandview, Granger and Naches. If you do live in one of those town, he says you could have a bucket of water handy, keep your pets and animals inside as it may frighten them and don’t shoot them at people (duh!) Watch the video and hear it straight from the man who has seen it all in the Yakima country.

And, remember, join us at the Yakima’s 4th of July Celebration
