City Crews Working To Stop Flow Of Water On Friday [VIDEO]

It started Thursday morning. The water started flowing into the Lake Aspen neighborhood and police and city crews responded. Yakima Police spokesman Mike Bastinelli says officers were called to the housing area on River Road at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning. "We first had to evacuate 11 homes and about 15 people."

More Flooding Causes Traffic Congestion At 16th Avenue In Yakima

My drive has become hectic these days due to ramp closures at 40th and now water is pouring onto the streets near Lake Aspen.

I tried to leave work today through the 16th avenue exit and discovered that route to be delayed.

A new DOT press release states 16th ave at mile post 102 exit is closed.

Flood waters that closed 40th ave and Frutivale in Yakima this morning still continues to cause trouble for road crews.

A DOT press release states that sand and sand bags have been placed to divert the water flow but the water still hasn't rescinded.
