Check Out Some Of Our Washington State Olympians!

We all know about Hope Solo from Richland , but there are several other Washington State athletes that will represent the USA at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
As we get closer to the July 27th opening of the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London, let’s take a look at some of the athletes from the Evergreen State that will be competing for the United States.

Nathan Adrian – Bremerton – Swimming

Tyler Farrar – Wenatchee – Cycling

Ariana Kukors – Auburn- Swimming

Adrienne Martelli – University Place – Rowing

Kara Patterson – Track and Field – Vancouver

Jarred Rome – Track and Field – Marysville

Courtney Thompson - Kent – Volleyball

Queen Underwood – Seattle – Boxing
Here are two famous faces, both Olympic Gold Medal winners from the Yakima Valley.

Phil Mahre – Naches – Alpine Skiing
Pete Rademacher (left) – Tieton – Boxing
And then, the Olympian who wasn’t.
Charles Carter – Yakima- Boxing
Yakima’s Charles Carter earned a berth on the 1980 U.S. Olympic Boxing Team as a middleweight. He did not get to compete due to the United States (along with 64 other countries) boycott of the 1980 Summer Games in Moscow. He went on to an 18-9 (8 KO) record as a pro. He also played basketball at YVCC.
