Chris Brown is off the hook for an alleged assault incident that took place in Las Vegas earlier this month. The Las Vegas Police Department has decided not to press charges against the singer due to "insufficient evidence."

According to KTNV, Brown, 26, was accused of punching the alleged victim, Liziane Gutierrez. She accused him of assault during a party at the Palms Casino Resort on Jan. 2. The reported incident occurred just hours after the singer's New Year's Eve concert at Drai's Nightclub on the Vegas strip. Police have shelved their investigation into the matter.

The altercation was said to have occurred after the woman attempted to snap a picture of Brown without his request. This apparently didn't sit well with him, which allegedly lead to a light scuffle and the woman's cellphone being taken away by Brown. The woman was escorted out of the room and into the hallway by private security and later escorted from the premises by hotel security. She returned a short time later to report the incident to hotel security.

Police were called to the hotel and took a statement from the unnamed woman, who appeared to have suffered minor injuries sustained as a result of battery. Detectives attempted to question Brown, but were denied entry into his hotel room. It was later determined that Brown had left the premises prior to their arrival.

After the news broke, Breezy was reportedly set to sue Guitierrez for defamation. Days after the battery charges were filed against him, he shared these thoughts on Instagram, "Keeping my circle small in 2016! I'm done taking the care of grown ass men. And I'm going to be hella rich after all the lawsuits I file from these crazy individuals who keep lying on my name. Happy NEW YEAR! Time for some of us to grow the fuck up!"

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time that Chris Brown has been accused of assault. The singer was sentenced to six years probation in the aftermath of his highly publicized assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. Since then, he has found himself involved in a number of altercations over the past few years.
