Chris Brown Officially Charged in Hit-and-Run Accident

Chris Brown‘s legal troubles never really seem to be over, and his latest incident comes as a set of formal charges stemming from a hit-and-run accident.

According to TMZ, the City Attorney in Los Angeles has charged Chris with a hit-and-run in addition to driving without a valid license. Unfortunately for Breezy, each charge could be punishable by up to six months in prison. Yikes.

These charges stem from an incident back in May when Breezy rear-ended a Mercedes in Los Angeles, and not only refused to show his driver’s license (probably because he didn’t have one), but he also gave the driver of the other car falsified insurance info. Why on Earth would Chris give fake information? Unless the person he hit lives under a rock, he’s pretty easy to track down. Bad form, Breezy. Seriously bad form.

TMZ is also reporting that the Los Angeles District Attorney, in addition to the hit-and-run charges, may lobby for a probation violation in connection with his assault on Rihanna. If Breezy is found to be at fault in this hit-and-run accident, then he would also be in violation of his probation from the 2009 case. A probation violation on Breezy’s part could come along with a four year prison sentence.

In typical Chris Brown fashion, he took to Twitter to refute the charges filed against him in a series of tweets. He wrote:

Okay, Chris Brown, regardless of whether you’re at fault now, you are an adult (anyone in the age bracket of 19-24 years of age qualifies as such), and you need to start acting like one. You certainly aren’t doing yourself any favors!
