As the flakes keep falling, Yakima city officials are warning that they might issue a "snow alert" within 24 hours, requiring motorists to remove their vehicles from designated snow routes.
Under the city's snow removal plan, officials call a snow alert if accumulations hit three inches.
Snow alerts are meant to keep routes clear for snow plows so crews can clear streets as quickly as possible. Most of Yakima's snow routes are in the downtown area.
For a complete map of the routes, visit this link on the city's website.
Meantime, watch the city's website, Facebook page and its official Twitter feed for further updates.
Should a snow alert take effect, call 575-3015 for further information.
