With Earth Day coming up on Friday, April 22, it's an annual reminder to consider what we're currently using and how we can improve our planet with some simple changes to our lifestyle. In today's world of electric cars and solar panels, I'm pleasantly surprised to find out that Washington state is one that sets the example for the rest of our great nation.

In a recent study by Wallet Hub, they rank Washington state has the second most greenest state, just under Vermont. There is several criteria that made up this list, but here's where Washington ranks on those items with 1 being best and 50 being least.

2nd – Water Quality
7th – % of Recycled Municipal Solid Waste
11th – Number of LEED-Certified Buildings per Capita
1st – % of Energy Consumption from Renewable Sources
8th – Energy-Efficiency Score
10th – Gasoline Consumption per Capita
7th – % of the Population Not Driving to Work
9th – Carbon Dioxide Emissions per Capita

Keep up the good work! You can see the rest of the list at Wallet Hub.
