Seahawks fans from the east side of the Cascades should expect a delay if heading over Snoqualmie Pass to the game on Sunday.

While autumn has only just begun, weather on I-90 east of Snoqualmie Pass can change rapidly, which can impact construction currently going on by the WSDOT.

In order to get the westbound lanes paved near Cle Elum before bad weather sets in, crews will be working through the weekend and requiring the westbound lanes to be reduced to a single for about six miles from the Elk Heights area to the Indian John Hill Rest Area.

The department expects backups to start right around 10 a.m. and continue into the evening. Seahawks fans heading to the game in Seattle, will need to be through this area before 10 a.m. in order to make it in time for kick-off at 1:05 p.m.

Drivers are encouraged to consider taking alternate routes via SR 10, US 97 or SR 970 in order to avoid major delays.
