The real Slim Shady is going to stand up soon ... but not til the summer (at the earliest).

Billboard reports that Eminem is well into the recording phase of his upcoming album, and that he even has live shows in the works.

"We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013," Shady Records President Paul Rosenberg said. "He’s been working on it for some time. It’s safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we’re not exactly sure when." He added, "We've got some dates locked in for him to perform live in Europe in August, so we’re trying to see what else lines up."

Rosenberg also noted that Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers, also has U.S. dates lining up as well, though he didn't go into specifics.

While Em has been quiet about his record, he has dropped some hints about it here and there: a photo of a hat with "2013" teased when it would hit shelves, and he's revealed that he'll be joining forces once more with Dr. Dre.
