Extra DUI Patrols Are Out

Labor Day weekend usually means that our highways have more patrols, thanks to federal grants that allow agencies to keep roadways safe during big travel holidays.

With this weekend being the Eclipse Weekend, Washington State Patrol started the emphasis early.

The Washington State Patrol, along with 145 law enforcement agencies, are participating in a "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" emphasis campaign.

This is a good time to remind you they will likely also be looking for E-DUIs.

Having traveled across the state this weekend, you couldn't help but notice the increased patrols.

The good times are waiting to be had this end of summer season -- just wait till you get where you're going before popping open your alcoholic beverages.
