I received a harassing personal message on Facebook. Instead of "feeding the trolls," I reported the cyber-bully as harassment, blocked him and moved on with my day. I got a message back from Facebook saying nothing he said was in the confines of their community standards. I'll share the personal message I got, which was directed toward my son, and you tell me if it's harassment or not.

I received this message Monday night from someone I'm not even friends with, but we have a friend in common so the message went straight to my main messages.

He's referring to my son with autism, which is public knowledge to anyone who knows me in real life or online or on-air.

Bullying and Harassment: How we respond to bullying and harassment.

We don’t tolerate bullying or harassment. We allow you to speak freely on matters and people of public interest, but remove content that appears to purposefully target private individuals with the intention of degrading or shaming them. This content includes, but is not limited to:

Pages that identify and shame private individuals,
Images altered to degrade private individuals,
Photos or videos of physical bullying posted to shame the victim,
Sharing personal information to blackmail or harass people, and
Repeatedly targeting other people with unwanted friend requests or messages.

I kind of want to emphasize how they say they don't tolerate bullying or harassment and look into content that purposefully targets private individuals with the intention of degrading or shaming them. That's what it looks like to me, but maybe I'm wrong.

I'm pretty sure I'm not wrong.

Actually, retraction, I know I'm not wrong.

They said best you can do is block him. That's fine for my family and I, but he'll just target other individuals -- and I later learned he has.

Facebook needs to fix this.

I don't let words bother me. He's a miserable jerk who feels the need to bring others down because he's not worth anything. I get that, but it's also not OK. Not OK for us or for anyone.
