• The American Farm Bureau Federation has carefully reviewed EPA’s proposed waters of the U.S. rule and AFBF President Bob Stallman says the results of the review are dismaying.

Stallman says the EPA proposal poses a serious threat to farmers, ranchers and other landowners. Waters, even ditches, are regulated even if they are miles from the nearest navigable waters even if they are not wet most of the time under the proposed rule.

The EPA says the new rule will reduce uncertainty, and Stallman says that is true, since most every feature where water flows or stands after a rainfall is federally regulated.

  • The National FFA Organization has developed the National Collegiate Agriculture Ambassadors program sponsored in part by Syngenta.

The FFA Ag Ambassador program helps educate a broad audience on food production.

Every year 20 college students across the U.S. are selected to participate in this program. They serve as ambassadors for one year speaking at local schools, colleges, FFA Chapters, civic organizations and Farm Bureau groups on the importance of sustainable agriculture.
