Fetty Wap, whose real name is Willie Maxwell, was robbed in his hometown of Paterson, NJ early Sunday morning (March 26), and shootout ensued, TMZ reports.

Fetty reportedly had his chain snatched, and according to law enforcement officials, officers were dispatched around 5 a.m. when shots were fired. A total of three people were hospitalized for their injuries— one person had been shot in the leg and another in the torso, when cops arrived. They were both taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, reports The North Jersey Record. A third person thought to be involved in the alleged incident later checked himself into Hackensack Medical Center.

According to The North Jersey Record, Paterson Deputy Police Chief Troy Oswald confirmed that Fetty Wap and several of his friends were involved in the shooting, however, Fetty and his friends are not suspects in the shooting or a robbery.

“During a physical altercation inside the deli, a male victim was physically assaulted with a firearm,” police said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. “The altercation then spilled out onto the street, and shots were fired, during which three gunshot victims were struck.”

An investigation is underway, TMZ reports. Fetty Wap's camp has yet to comment on the incident.
