Five Songs from the New ‘Mega 99.3′ That Brought Back a Flood of Memories
I recently discovered a new radio station in town found on 99.3 on the FM dial. Mega 99.3 plays a big of funk, a bit of disco, a bit of R&B and hip-hop from what seems like the early '80s and '90s. Basically, what we'd listen to with my high school choir. I heard a few songs I haven't heard in years. Here's a small sample of what I heard.
Gerardo
Rico SuaveI remember thinking this song was hilarious. I listen to it now that I'm grown and hear all of the hidden innuendos, but just listening to this song reminds me of when I was in seventh grade. Crazy how just a song can do that to you.
Earth, Wind and Fire
SeptemberI'm a huge fan of Earth, Wind and Fire so the fact we have a radio station that plays anything by then is good news for me. I can jam to this song anytime for any reason.
Kool & The Gang
Jungle BoogieAlthough this song had a major resurgence in the 90's hit movie 'Pulp Fiction', it just has that funky groove to it. I love it.
Crystal Waters
100% Pure LoveThis has that early 90's sound that I used to love. I remember when this was the song that 107.3 KFFM used to play all the time. Now I still listen to it on Mega 99.3.
Sir Mix-a-Lot
Baby Got BackJust because I like this song and I cannot lie.
