Free Idea: Visit Your Local Bookstore When The Library Is Closed
My daughter had a sleepover this weekend with her best friend, Charlotte, and I promised to take them to our library to look through some books.
My timing was terrible; it was after 7pm and the library closes at 6pm on Saturdays. What to do?
I decided to take them to the local bookstore, in our case, Inklings Bookstore. They have a fabulous kids section that will keep them busy looking through fun books.
While we were there, I noticed a cutout made for taking pictures. It was a book promotion for the follow-up book to Dragons Love Tacos, aptly named, Dragons Love Tacos 2: The Sequel. If you haven’t read the first book, I highly recommend it!
I snapped a pic, uploaded it to Instagram and used the promotional hashtag #SaveTheTacos! Too cute. One of the librarians informed me that the Taco Dragon will be visiting Inklings in September. SCORE!
Maybe the next time you are looking for something fun for the kids to do indoors, and you don’t want to spend any money just yet, try your local bookstore. You never know what you might find lurking just around the corner!
