Every year the state fair in Texas is home of the Big Tex Choice Awards, which have people submitting their ideas for fair foods. Previous entries have included chicken-fried bacon, fried banana splits, fried bubble gum and more. Here are the entries for 2014.

Chicken Fried Loaded Baked Potato
They took a baked potato with all the fixin's blended together, then coated and fried it with a ranch dipping sauce. I think it sounds good.

Deep Fried "Breakfast for Dinner"
Basically, a breakfast burrito with eggs, sausage, bacon, potato, ham, onions, cheese and cinnamon roll bites rolled in a tortilla and deep-fried topped. Then it's topped with country gravy salsa and a pico-queso-dip.

Deep Fried Texas Bluebonnet
Kind of like a blueberry scone with cream cheese and white chocolate, deep fried and topped with whipped cream, white chocolate bits, powdered sugar, blueberries and a blueberry glaze.

Fried Gulf Shrimp Boil
Balls of shrimp, diced potatoes, onion, lemon and seasonings coated with fish fry. The tail is the handle.

Fried Sriracha Balls
Chicken, corn, tomatoes and chilies tossed in sriracha coated in tortilla chips and fried.

Fried Sweet Texas
A pie filled with pecan pie, peach cobbler and buttermilk pie, all mixed together and fried. Served with ice cream.

Funnel Cake Ale
A beer with a hint of toastiness and vanilla. The cup is rimmed with powdered sugar.

Twisted Texas Tacos
It's fried chicken, barbecue, Tex-Mex and chili all wrapped into one taco.

Pretty interesting, this year. Some sound pretty good. Others, well, best of luck to them.
Maybe it's something our Central Washington State Fair should start doing. If you could make your own fair food, what would it be? Let us know in the comments.
