In our effort to get Baby Joel "Yaklimated" to the great locally-owned establishments we have in our area, I thought I'd take him to grab breakfast at a standard classic of Yakima: Powerhouse Grill.

I like bringing him to places for specific menu items. Mel's Diner as the steak tips and eggs, Waffle's Caffe has, well, the waffles. I don't have a favorite at Powerhouse Grill as I get something new each time. He opted for the corned beef and eggs. I grabbed the sweet potato pancakes.

Everything was wonderful, as it always is at Powerhouse Grill. For the first time in "Get Yaklimated" history, we were both defeated. Neither one of us could finish our meal because they give such generous portions. That's good news for me because I love leftovers.

It's a non-problem, but one thing about Powerhouse Grill when you first walk in is you see all of the awesome-looking desserts. I've never had room for any of them, ever. They look so good, too! One of these times I'll stop by specifically for a slice of carrot cake or something.

Powerhouse Grill is a great place to go if you don't know what you're in the mood for as they have a bit of everything and it's all good. I've never been disappointed.

You can find Powerhouse Grill at 3807 River Road in Yakima, across from Chesterley Park just off North 40th Avenue.
