Great news, Gleeks! ‘Glee‘ has officially been renewed for a fourth season. The news was expected, but now fans and cast members can officially celebrate. After The Hollywood Reporter made the disclosure yesterday, Lea Michele passed on the good news to her followers.

The big question is how the graduating characters, including those played by Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith, will continue to take part in the show. Michele is obviously hoping Rachel moves to New York. That could happen, although Fox Entertainment’s Kevin Reilly quashed the idea of a spinoff involving the characters’ new lives in NYC.

The remaining eight episodes of Season 3, starting tonight with ‘Big Brother,’ are expected to establish the storylines that will carry the characters into next season.

The ratings for ‘Glee’ dipped this season, but the show still pulled in an average of 8.9 million total viewers and a 3.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic, according to Nielsen. With no ‘Glee’ concert tour this summer, the cast will have the summer off.
