It's been over a month since my daughter, Willow, turned 5 years old (March 6) and I have yet to throw her an official birthday party.

Now, before you label me a terrible parent, please keep in mind that last month on her birthday, I had bought her a "My Little Pony" birthday cake as she requested, and she shared it with all of her friends and teachers at her preschool, so they had a little party for her then. She hasn't, however, had a formal "5" years old birthday party with everybody bringing her presents -- and she has reminded me of this nearly every single day since then.

I cannot put this party off any longer. Is it considered too late to throw her a party now?

I feel bad, but I have been financially strained and very busy with other projects around the house and at work, so I kept forgetting and procrastinating on giving her a fun birthday party with her friends.

After much thought (and delay), I have decided to have her birthday party at one of those fast-food play places this Saturday. She is always asking me to take her to the Burger King Play Place, and it's always free for kids to play there! SCORE! All I will have to do is buy a bunch of burgers, fries and chicken nuggets for the kids who attend, and the rest will hopefully run just as smoothly!

Mission Complete. A month later, but still, complete!
