I've heard a lot of great things about the movie, Girls Trip, and I tried to get tickets to it all weekend, but I could not find a baby sitter! Instead of being angry AF and pouting all weekend long, I decided to just be patient and wait on the bootleg -- JUST KIDDING, JUST KIDDING! But in all seriousness, the first chance I get to find a sitter, I'm seeing this movie -- with or without anybody else.

Tiffany Haddish, but also because the movie features some great man buns -- and I don't mean these:

No, I'm talking an actual MAN'S BUNS! Awwww yeah, baby!

(And don't give me that auntie glare as though I should be ashamed of myself!)

The man buns in question belong to none other than Kofi Siriboe, the man who happens to steal scenes (and hearts) in Queen Sugar (Queen Sugar Season 1 is now available on Hulu!).

I cannot WAIT to see "Girls Trip," but I have to admit, I'm one of those people who likes to go see movies by myself. However, if my best friend (who moved away to Charleston, S.C.) were still living here in Yakima, I would have already gone to see it with her this weekend!

The last time I went on a "girls' trip" was right before I moved from Nashville, Tenn,, to Yakima to do a morning radio show.

Except "the girls" was my dad, and he didn't think I was moving to Washington state; he thought we were making the short drive over to Washington, D.C. Boy, was he ticked off about that!

My dad and I didn't go to any clubs or music festivals on our "girls' trip", instead we experienced traffic coming to a complete halt due to a white out on a snowy mountain pass, plus I burned out the brakes of our U-haul truck on a steep and scary decline in Colorado. Good times.

In conclusion, due to the fact that right now I am feeling curmudgeonly about not being able to see "Girls Trip" this weekend, and 'cause I'm feeling extra petty about the lack of movie marketing support the movie received, I hope that "Girls Trip" does better at the box office than "Rough Night."

I hope that there is such a high demand from patrons to see the movie locally in Yakima (as of the time of this article, "Girls Trip" is only showing in one screening room in Yakima), that they are forced to show it on more screens and move it over to either 21+ Orion Cinema or even at the plush Majestic Theater! I'm feeling too lazy to drive out to Grand Cinemas in Sunnyside, though.

So, this week, if you happen to hear a faint "Yassss!" outside, that would be the sound of me scoring a sitter and going to see "Girls Trip!"
