Iggy Azalea to Drop ‘Digital Distortion’ This Summer

Iggy Azalea's "Team" may not come close to the success of the Grammy-nominated 2014 summer anthem "Fancy", but Iggy is focused on preparing for her the release of her sophomore effort.

Fans won't have to wait much longer for the full LP. The Aussie rhymer announced that Digital Distortion will drop next month via Def Jam Recordings.

“It’s harder than my debut — more aggressive. It’s a little bit darker and moodier and there’s a bit more of a throwback to some of my older mixtape sounds," Iggy told EW.com. "But it’s got electronic influences used in a rap way. My version of rap is always controversial.”

Before finalizing the album, Iggy said she chose 20 songs and then ended up scrapping them. The "Fancy" rhymer decided to take it back to her mixtape days and reconnect with D.R.U.G.S., the team behind her acclaimed debut mixtape.

The road to Digital Distortion has been rocky for Iggy. The 25-year-old rapper was involved in her share of Twitter feuds, which left her feeling judged and misunderstood. She even had suicidal thoughts and battled with depression.

“This album isn’t about Twitter battles," she said. "It’s about the way other people can distort your character and having the power through technology to do that."

Iggy Azalea's Digital Distortion drops on June 24.
