Missy Elliott is back and, by her estimation, she's better, she's better.

The "Get Ur Freak On" rap icon made the surprise announcement of a new single and video Thursday (Jan. 26) on Twitter: "ATTENTION‼️ New MISSY single & video dropping at MIDNIGHT‼️#ImBetter A MUST SEE!"

The song, which arrived on Apple Music shortly thereafter, features Lamb. Together, they cockily brag and grumble above a minimal beat.

"Bruce Lee on the beat / I don't compete with none of these geeks," she proclaims. "He watching my body like he watches Scandal."

"I'm Better" was written by Missy Elliot and produced by Lamb, and the video was co-directed by Elliott and Dave Meyers, her longtime collaborator who also directed the videos for "Work It" and "Lose Control," among others.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Missy's debut album, Supa Dupa Fly. Her last studio album, The Cookbook, was released in 2005.

Prior to "I'm Better," her last lead single, "WTF (Where They From) (feat. Pharrell)," was released in 2015. The song reached the Top 25 of the Billboard Hot 100, and was certified Gold.
