OMG, you guys! Jason Derulo has covered Lorde's 'Royals,' easily one of the most covered songs of 2013, and guess what? It's really good!

Derulo delivered his soulful version of the New Zealand singer's smash hit for the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge. Since everyone and their mother covers the song, we were on the fence -- and then Derulo opened his mouth and we were like "Whoa!" Great job, dude!

There's something about performing at the Live Lounge. Covers come to life and match the power and impact of the original. Need even more proof, as if Derulo's cover wasn't enough? Well, Thirty Seconds to Mars blew us away with their cover of Rihanna's 'Stay.'

Derulo's version adds layers to the spare and newly Grammy nominated original, thanks to some more percussion and the female vocal harmony. We love how he changes the lyric to "You can call me King Bee."

He needed the help of a lyric sheet, but that’s OK. His version was totally terrific, like everything he does.
