Fresh off his much-buzzed about antics at the 2015 Grammy Awards, Kanye West performed "Jesus Walks" and "Wolves" on Saturday Night Live's 40th anniversary special.

Kicking things off a little old school (yessss) with "Jesus Walks," the rapper began his SNL performance by lying on the cold hard ground (to quote his new bestie Taylor Swift), legit spittin' rhymes into a microphone while lying on his back. Despite the odd position, West totally nailed the artistic performance and totally got us super nostalgic in the process.

He then broke out into two of his most recent hits, performing "Only One," and later -- in a more upright position -- "Wolves," which features both Sia and Vic Mensa. In fact, the performance of "Wolves" was the track's live debut, and Sia -- clad in her trademark oversized blond wig, face obstructed -- gave the song an even stronger feel with her emotional vocals.

While West undoubtedly delivered a powerful performance of his medley of hits, we think that the only thing that could've made it better was if it featured a little planned interruption from a certain Taylor Swift, who just so happened to be at the same event. Of course, SNL later took aim at West's stage interruptions during the show's epic "Wayne's World" segment, jokingly using security to "restrain" him from jumping on stage. Excellent.
