Kesha's latest single is breaking musical barriers for ladies everywhere. Seems like a simple thing, but since the first song titled "Woman" hit the charts in the 1960s, there hasn't been an actual woman to sing her own version to do so -- until now. Kesha's "Woman" (featuring The Dap-Kings Horns), a ditty that takes no nonsense from anyone, just made history as a chart-achiever.

According to Billboard, "Woman" appears on the Hot 100 at No. 96 and at No. 27 on Digital Song Sales. The three "Woman" songs to hit the charts before Kesha's take were by Peter and Gordon (1966), John Lennon (1981), and Raheem DeVaughn (2008).

In less than two weeks (August 11), fans can get the full album from which "Woman" is derived: Rainbow. In the meantime, celebrate Kesha's win for women by watching her video below.
