Lady Gaga's legal rep fired back at Dr. Luke's subpoena on Monday, July 31.

The singer, who is about embark on her Joanne World Tour, has been asked to provide testimony in the defamation case between Kesha, who Gaga has been publicly supportive of, and the pop producer.

"As Lady Gaga's legal team will present to the court, she has provided all of the relevant information in her possession and is at most an ancillary witness in this process," Amanda Silverman, the pop star's representative, shared in a statement with USA TODAY.

"Dr. Luke’s team is attempting to manipulate the truth and draw press attention to their case by exaggerating Lady Gaga's role and falsely accusing her of dodging reasonable requests," Silverman added.

According to Dr. Luke's attorney, Linda Carbone, Gaga "has relevant information" pertinent to the musician's case.

"Various third parties are being deposed by both sides, including celebrities. Dr. Luke’s counsel served a subpoena on Lady Gaga because she has relevant information regarding, among other things, false statements about Dr. Luke made to her by Kesha," Carbone shared in a statement. "This motion has become necessary because Dr. Luke’s counsel has not been able to obtain, despite repeated request, a deposition date from Lady Gaga."

Dr. Luke's legal counsel has accused Gaga of "spreading negative messages" about the producer alongside Kesha in a so-called "smear campaign" against him.
