I love the area around Snoqualmie and North Bend. There is plenty to do over the course of a weekend. You can check out Snoqualmie Falls, Downtown North Bend, hike on Mount Si and visit the NW Railway Museum. If, like me, as a kid you were always fascinated with trains this is a great opportunity to take a 70-minute journey on a real old-time locomotive and experience what it was like when the Great Northwest was settled.

According to the museum's website "Train excursions depart from both the Snoqualmie Depot and the North Bend Depot. Passengers may disembark to visit and catch a later train back to their depot."

"Beginning in April 2016 -- To share how the railroad changed everything, all regular train excursions include a stop at the Railway History Center for a 30-minute visit in the Train Shed Exhibit Building. Following their Train Shed visit, passengers reboard the train and continue west to the crest of Snoqualmie Falls with views of the scenic lower river valley. The train then goes back east with a stop at the Snoqualmie Depot."

Tickets are $22 for adults and $12 for kids so a family of four can ride the train for just $68.

The railway is open from April through October.
