Now that Showtime has picked up the old "Twin Peaks" and announced it will continue the series after 25 years, my wife and I have decided to watch the entire series again. Thanks to Netflix and the fact I have the box set, we're pacing ourselves. But it's so easy to want to watch just one more episode of this iconic Northwest show starring Kyle McLaughlin, who was born and raised in Yakima.

If you binge-watch, or even if you casually watch, you'll have to have snacks. Themed snacks are getting more and more popular. Anyone can do coffee and cherry pie, but a specific scene wanted us to make one of these sandwiches. Super-easy to make and totally delicious. Here's how.

You'll need a few ingredients.

  • Baguette
  • Brie
  • Butter (never margarine)

Pretty much tells the story, right? I splurged and bought Irish butter. I don't taste a difference, but my wife swears by it. (Spoiler alert: she's Irish). I buttered both sides of the bread lightly, bought some sliced brie cheese -- which you can find in most grocery stores in that fancy cheese island that most grocery stores have near the deli -- then put 'em all together and destroyed that sandwich in a matter of moments.

I had such an enjoyable experience with that sandwich that I decided to make another, but this time I changed a couple of things.

Brie and Butter Sandwich - Modified

For the one I made above, I did this:

  • Poor Boys (mini-baguettes)
  • Brie
  • Butter (never margarine)
  • Honey
  • Black Pepper

Made it same as before, but this time I drizzled honey (local, of course) and cracked black pepper on it. The combination of bread or cracker, cheese, honey and pepper is a favorite of mine so I basically made this into a sandwich form.

It's super-easy to make so maybe consider something like this next time you're set to watch "Twin Peaks."
