Mariah Carey and Jermaine Dupri have been creating musical magic together for over 15 years and they are keeping their partnership permanent for now. Mimi recently hired the legendary producer to manage her career.

According to Idolator, Dupri confirmed the appointment on Oct. 4 after the two were photographed in the studio with Nas. The studio veteran is currently working on Carey's oft-delayed album, 'The Art of Letting Go.'

Carey and Dupri have been collaborating since her 1996 single, 'Always Be My Baby.' Of course, the duo's most famous collaboration is the 2005 ballad, 'We Belong Together,' which was voted song of the decade by Billboard magazine.

“Even though Mariah always considered herself to be first and foremost a black woman, everyone at the label was scared of her being too urban," said Dupri in the past about Carey's musical legacy. "She’s far from some ‘hood rat, but she’s definitely a lil’ ghetto and she was tired of being called the ‘ballad queen.’”

Before Dupri, Carey had been managed by former 'American Idol' judge Randy Jackson. It's unclear why Carey and Jackson parted ways.

Nevertheless, we wish Mimi the best of luck with Dupri. Now when can we get this album?
