On Monday, the state released the first 24 retail marijuana licenses, and other shops will open sometime in the near future. The first day of legal sales is today, July 8.

The city of Yakima put a ban on sales, so there won't be a store selling recreational marijuana anytime soon, but if you're up for a short drive, there are a couple of places in the Yakima Valley, including Union Gap and Prosser.

Here's where else you can find legal pot in Washington state.

Union Gap will have Station 420 (4007 Main St.). They're getting ready to open Wednesday.

Prosser has Altitude (260 Merlot Drive) and they're open now.

Other cities in Washington state with legal recreational sales include Arlington, Bellevue, Bellingham, Bingen, Camano Island, Wenatchee, Ephrata, Kelso, Lacey, Langley, Longview, Okanogan, Seattle, Tacoma, Vancouver and Winthrop.

This is the first round. More may certainly pop up in the future.
