Is Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine about to transition from sitting comfy in his red swivel chair in front of a studio audience on The Voice into a packed football stadium in front of millions of people next February?

According to E! Online, quite possibly.

In a breaking exclusive this afternoon, the entertainment outlet now reports that "Levine and his band, Maroon 5, have had extensive talks about performing during halftime of Super Bowl 50 in 2016." Back in September, rumors swirled that Bruno Mars would be invited back to perform and "curate" Super Bowl 50.

"A source tells E! News the other acts the NFL have discussed at one point have included Coldplay and Bruno Mars, who just performed in 2014 at Super Bowl XLVIII. However, the source says Levine's band is the current front-runner for the gig," the site further reports.

So, what do you think? Would hits like "She Will Be Loved," "Sugar" and "Moves Like Jagger" translate in front of millions? Would Adam and company serve up as good a show as Katy Perry did this year? Would you be excited about Maroon 5 taking over the stadium for Super Bowl 50?
