  • Two shareholder resolutions were rejected during Monsanto’s annual shareholders meeting.

  • The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) urged a reversal of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposal to lower the 2014 Renewable Fuel Standard Renewable Volume Obligations.

RFA’s Bob Dinneen expressed that the group is strongly opposed to the proposal and encouraged EPA to reconsider the proposal and finalize the requirement for renewable fuel at the level set by Congress which is 14.4-billion gallons.

  • Another undercover video led USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service to pull its inspectors from a veal processing plant in New Jersey and shutting the plant down. According to USDA – the video shows two egregious violations of federal law.
