Although we, in the Pacific Northwest, know what fresh seafood and proper fruit are supposed to be we also have our food deficiencies. For instance, I grew up thinking 'barbecue' was a sauce or flavor of potato chip instead of the lifestyle of cooking it is in the south.

I saw a few of my friends on the east coast talking about something called a 'fluffernutter' which I wasn't familiar with. I decided to try it out for myself and now I can't stop eat them.

A fluffernutter, you ask? It's simply a sandwich made with peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. That's it. Simple by design, simple by flavor, the marshmallow adds and extra sweetness as if you were using the peanut butter found inside Reese's Pieces. It's fantastic.

Best of all, my kids love them, too. Though with how much sugar is probably in this we still have to limit our intake. But it's a simple treat to make and less messy than Nutella. Though adding Nutella to this may just send this sandwich over the edge. Maybe add some sliced bananas? Then grill it? Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Doing a bit of research, it turns out these have existed since the turn of the century. I've lived my life far too long not knowing this existed.

If you're up for a new treat, give it a try. One of my daughters is particularly picky about trying to foods and she loved this. It's peanut butter and marshmallow. What's not to like?
