If Your Kids Love ‘Skylanders’, They’re Going to Love Nintendo’s Amiibo

At the E3 (Electronics Entertainment Expo), one of the new products that Nintendo unveiled is something called Amiibo. Like Skylanders, they are figurines that can improve and add into your video games.

What makes Amiibo great is that it's not for just one game, unlike Skylanders. With Amiibo, they're going to utilize these figures for many Nintendo products in the future, starting with Super Smash Brothers. They're also going to be making additions to Mario Kart 8, which is already available.

It's something fun to collect and breathes new life into your video games.

I'm looking forward to seeing what it can do.

I have a few friends whose children go nuts over Skylanders and their attempt to collect them all. They're always receiving new Skylanders figures for their birthday or spending their allowance money on them. I can totally see them doing this now for Amiibo.

They're hoping to launch Amiibo this holiday season of 2014 along with Super Smash Brothers for Wii U.
