With the temperature hanging around the triple-digit mark, you won't need a jacket at Downtown Summer Nights this week. You might as well lose the tie, too.

But as usual, be ready for some great music, food and drinks when two more Northwest bands step onto the stage Thursday evening.

This week's show features Polecat and Crow and the Canyon.

Polecat, which began in Bellingham six years ago, has recorded three albums and put on more than 550 shows around the Northwest. They smoothly blend bluegrass, country, Celtic, rock, reggae and world music, and audiences have come to love their energetic and interactive take on roots music.

Crow and the Canyon, meantime, are based in Portland. The two-year-old band went from turning heads at local pubs to packing venues across the Northwest. They've just released their first full-length album, "Leaving Soon," which mixes contemporary American roots and indie-folk.

Set-up for Thursday's show is at 5:30 and bands play from 6-9. Don't bother with dinner -- local vendors will lay out the food, and you can cool off in the beverage garden. Yakima Neighborhood Health, meantime, provides a free place for kids to play and enjoy some hands-on activities.

And just in case you get too hot, don't overlook the Memorial Foundation's cooling station -- we're guessing it'll be a popular draw this week!

The weekly concert series, which continues through Aug. 18, is sponsored by Stewart Subaru, with music powered by Chinook FestLegends Casino provides the stage.

See you there!
