This is Alex. He rules! He goes to my daughter's school and goes with our family to Children's Village to get services he needs to live a happy, healthy life.

We spoke to Alex and his mom not too long about about his story and where he was and how he got to where he is today.

He started perfect (her words) but found he suffered from hydrocephalus (water on the brain) at 5 months. From there Alex's parents noticed he wasn't reaching his milestones so they took him to a doctor where he was diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy. At this time he also couldn't speak. Doctors said he would never walk. Alex's parents wasn't hearing any of that.

Through Children's Village, he went through several therapies and began showing improvement.

When he turned 4, that's when he started having seizures. It got to the point where he had to be airlifted to Seattle. He was then diagnosed with epilepsy.

When he was 6, they decided on surgery for his legs to give them more range of motion to help him walk without as much pain. It was a success! He's able to walk on his own now, can speak well and has shown major improvement.
