British boy band One Direction are on the cusp of history.

The boys could very well earn their way into the record books when the sales numbers from their debut, ‘Up All Night,’ are all tallied. The album landed in stores this week and while the final stats for the Billboard Top 200 won’t be available until next Wednesday (March 21), early estimates indicate that the album is on track to sell as many as 160,000 to 180,000 copies. That amount could be enough to debut in the No. 1 slot – if they can hold off their fellow Brit Adele, who has occupied that spot for a bazillion weeks. Actually, it’d be 24 weeks if she goes back to No. 1 next week, but who’s counting?

British acts going No. 1 is nothing new. But not one has done so with their first album.  So the boys certainly have something exciting to shoot for.

Can Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson etch their names into the Billboard history book? We believe they can.

Now it’s up to Directioners — their dedicated throng of (mostly female) fans — to help push their heroes into that slot.

Pick up you copy of ‘Up All Night’ and help One Direction make history. Push them to No.1 next week!
