Have you ever discovered a movie you didn’t know existed that stars your favorite actor? Or maybe there’s an album from your favorite band that nobody told you about? What about finding out you have a sibling that you didn’t know you had? That just happened to Oprah Winfrey.

On “The Oprah Winfrey Show” that aired Monday, Winfrey announced that she was related to a woman identified only as Patricia. She says Patricia had known the two were related since 2007. Even though she continually tried to reach Winfrey, she never went to the media or otherwise publicized her discovery.
The slightest bit of me wants to say that she’s reaching out now that she has her own TV channel, but she’s Oprah! She’s known for giving out cars and diamonds to her friends. Certainly it’s not a money issue.
