She's used to breaking headlines, but today, Katie Couric is making some of her own.
According to a report from the AP, Couric is leaving her historic anchor post at CBS Evening News after joining the program less than five years ago, in 2006. Her next move: a syndicated talk show, which is expected to launch in 2012.
Couric's contract with CBS ends on June 4, though no word on when her official last broadcast will be.

Singer Cheryl Cole has reportedly joined the judges' panel on Fox's upcoming reality-competition series 'The X Factor,' premiering this fall.
So says fellow judge L.A. Reid, anyway, who during a recent interview revealed, "We're gonna compete against American Idol just fine. I'm very confident. But along with Simon Cowell and Cheryl, I don't know who the other judge is.
According to EW.com, Cole is still in talks with the network and no official word has been made. (Still, given that the news came from L.A. Reid's lips, it's probably true.)

It was another big week for viral videos, in which the Internet introduced us to everything from an embarrassing drunk dial, to a proposal on live television to a brand-new music video from superstar Katy Perry.
We also saw a few baby videos go viral, both good and bad. The good: a so-cute-its-adorable video of two twin babies having a conversation, which launched into a popular Internet trend. The bad: Well, we'll let tennis pro David Ferrer's actions do the talking (see below).

Elton John Hosts ‘Saturday Night Live’ [VIDEOS]

Elton John put on a show as host of ÔSaturday Night LiveÕ this weekend, marking only his second appearance on the long running sketch comedy show.
In his opening monologue, John proclaimed Òthe bitch is backÓ before launching into a series of jokes about his new baby boy, whom John said was born with Òten fingers, ten toes, and $400 million dollars.Ó John also joked about Lady Gaga being his sonÕs (named Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John) godmother.
As for the actual sketches, many seemed to rely on jokes about JohnÕs British roots, his flamboyant stage persona and his sexuality, including one sketch titled ÔThe Old West,Õ in which John played, well, a flamboyant cowboy. (Really, can you blame the writers? WeÕre still trying to figure out why John hosted in the first place.)
