In a time when girl groups and boy bands utterly dominate the K-Pop market, Rain is back to prove he's got this whole pop star thing entirely on his own.

The 34-year-old singing-dancing-acting superstar, who first debuted back in 2002 with Bad Guy (a veteran!), is back three years after his latest Korean studio album (Rain Effect) with a brand new ballad: "The Best Present" — and none other than "Gangnam Style" international icon PSY is along for the ride behind the boards as the track's producer.

The finger-snapping, piano-led ballad showcases the singer's vocals across subtle hi-hats and tripping beats, proving Rain to be as capable a performer as ever.

And just because "The Best Present" is a ballad doesn't mean he can't sweat it out: doing his best Michael Jackson impression in a fedora (and/or Usher), the silhouetted superstar pulls shapes in the shadows for the first half of his comeback music video, later switching it up into an all-white ensemble.

Between this, the return of S.E.S. and Queen of K-Pop™ BoA's upcoming return, the South Korean pop scene feels more exciting (and familiar!) than ever.

Welcome back, Rain. Watch "The Best Present" above.

UPDATE (Jan. 16): Even more "Presents" for you! The singer just unveiled a Chinese version of "The Best Present." Watch below.
