Robert Pattison’s rep says he’s not recording an album, contrary to reports.

The ‘Twilight’ star was rumored to be recording original songs for a debut album. Sources even told Us Weekly what kind of music would be on it. “Guitar-based and drums, very organic-sounding, nothing pop,” one source said, describing Pattinson’s sound as “stripped-down Ray LaMontagne meets Van Morrison.”

Pattinson recorded a track for the original ‘Twilight’ soundtrack and has performed original songs at small gigs. According to Us Weekly, he and some of his ‘Twilight’ castmates held jam sessions in their hotel rooms while shooting the movies, and costar Jackson Rathbone — who’s also a musician — said Pattinson, quote, “loves to play the blues. He can hold his own on a guitar.”

Alas, the album is apparently not to be. Pattinson’s publicist told MTV News, “The report is untrue. He is not working on an album right now.” It’s worth noting that the statement doesn’t say the actor will never record an album — just that he’s not recording one at the moment.
