New medical evidence suggests you should attend some of the many great, local music events coming up -- like the Untapped Music Festival in Tri-Cities and Downtown Summer Nights in Yakima. Not just because they're fun and completely awesome, but because it's good for your body to take in a concert.

A study done across the pond had 117 volunteers attend a couple of shows. Those volunteers provided saliva samples before the show and then provided another sample an hour later. As it turns out, the samples collected an hour later showed lowered levels of cortisol and cortisone (basically, stress hormones) on everyone they tested.

So attending concerts is a stress reducer. Something I think we can all benefit from.

I know what you're thinking. "No duh!" However, I thought it was cool that they'd actually do the study behind it to prove that, indeed, when you're having fun, it relieves you of stress.

You can read more about the study from the Telegraph -- and we'll see you at our next concert!
