Food manufacturers and supermarkets like to advertise that their meals are healthy. But there can be only one “healthiest” meal, and British scientists have looked through 4,000 health claims in an effort to determine what that would be.

According to Leatherhead Food Research, you can’t get any healthier than a four-course meal that starts with fresh smoked salmon terrine. That would be followed by mixed leaf salad with extra virgin olive oil dressing and a high fiber multigrain roll. Next up is a main course of chicken casserole with lentils and mixed vegetables.

Then, for dessert, you can enjoy live yogurt-based blancmange topped with walnuts and a sugar-free caramel-flavored sauce.

In addition to not containing too many bad calories, all these foods have health benefits. Salmon is good for the arteries, heart and brain, and olive oil helps with blood pressure. The scientists count 80 valid health claims attached to the chicken casserole dish and the yogurt-based desert is good for digestion, teeth and blood glucose control.
